Community Conversations - Author Visit with Alex Gino

Date: 8/28/2018
Start Time: 6:00 PM
End Time: 7:45 PM
Mooresville Public Library invites the community to learn and communicate in a space where all are valued and respected. Too often discussions become so heated we forget to reflect, respect, and celebrate the range of people in the world. We are human beings with stories worth sharing. Mooresville Public Library wants to reintroduce the concept of conversation. Our solution is the Community Conversations series, which gives the community the opportunity to listen to someone who has a story that hasnít been told. This series will be held in a comfortable and relaxed environment with refreshments.

Alex Gino will chat about their award-winning book George about a transgender fourth-grader who learns to be who they are. Alex loves glitter, ice cream, gardening, and stories that reflect the diversity and complexity of being alive. They are proud to have been an activist and advocate for LGBTQ+ communities since 1997 and to now be a member of We Need Diverse Books panels team. Born and raised on Staten Island, NY, Alex lives in Oakland, CA.
